Never confused with pretty boy Brad Pitt, Kirk makes his living as a character actor. From goofy to creepy, white collar to trailer trash or just plain average Joe, Kirk can slide into these roles as easily as Paris Hilton getting a sprayed-on tan.
Bovill continues his New Orleans booking streak with the WWE Film “Bending the Rules” with Adam “Edge” Copeland, Jamie Kennedy, Jessica Walter, Jennifer Esposito, Alicia Witt, Kevin Weisman and Phillip
Baker Hall. This follows up Michael Mann’s “The Fields” starring Sam Worthington (Avatar), Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchman).
Forever the chameleon, Kirk recently played a Northern Irish Policeman in Sons Of Anarchy, the hit FX show about an outlaw motorcycle gang, starring Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam and Katey Sagal.
Kirk Bovill can be found everywhere these days. Paramount’s webisode “Circle of Eight” which was directed by Emmy winning director, Stephen Cragg is available at Blockbuster as a feature length film after a successful debut on My Space. Footprints and Butterfly Circus screened at the 2010 Method Fest. Butterfly Circus won the $100k top prize for best film at The Doorpost Film Project and is slated to run at the The Feel Good Film Festival. White Lightnin’ picked up US distribution through Sundance Selects and has inked a movie on demand deal with cable providers after premiering at Sundance in 2009.
Nasser Entertainment’s WWJD? is slated for an October release. Bovill takes a lead role, opposite John Schneider.
Recent television roles this include; CSI, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, recurring on Days of our Lives, Eleventh Hour and TNT’s new show Leverage. Kirk had the opportunity to work with Oscar winner Tony Bill as the director of the Leverage episode.
As a writer, his screenplay, “The Unmatchmaker” which has director John Swanbeck (The Big Kahuna with Danny Devito and Kevin Spacey) attached to the project was a semi-finalist in the recent Fade In Screen Writing Contest which attracted over 2,400 screenplays. He is developing a television show with Michael Warren and has written the pilot which is gaining industry attention.
Kirk and Joni Bovill have released two critically acclaimed CDs under the indie label, Elmo Records. He has licensed music from the CDs to Hemisphere Entertainment for feature films.
Kirk and Joni have been happily married for over fourteen years which is like 60-years in non-Hollywood marriages.
